Ms. Miriam Andrioli , Chief of the Service Delivery Division in the Weather and Disaster Risk Reduction Services Department at the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), Geneva.
Ms. Miriam Andrioli is Chief of the Service Delivery Division in the Weather and Disaster Risk Reduction Services Department of the World Meteorological Organisation. She graduated in meteorology at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and then joined the National Meteorological Service where she held managerial positions in Marine Meteorology, in addition to a vast expert professional career in the Aeronautical and Antarctic fields. At the international level, she has worked with WMO and the Oceanographic Commission, and UNESCO, as president of the Joint Technical Commission for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology (JCOMM) capacity building group; including, as JCOMM capacity building programme area coordinator for WMO Regional Association III at the South America Marine Meteorology Services. In the aeronautical field she has worked with ICAO as member of Argentina on the International Airways Volcanic Watch Operations Group (IAVWOPSG) and as representative of the Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Buenos Aires (2008-2017). She has been the co-author/MET advisor for the Volcanic Ash Contingency Plan for ICAO South American Region.
