Dr. Erik Chavez, Research Fellow, Imperial College London
Dr. Erik Chavez is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London. He is an engineer with specialization in biophysics, and he completed his PhD in climate dynamics and economics at Imperial College London and École Normale Supérieure in Paris. His research focuses on climate dynamics and climate event risk modelling, with particular focus on the effect of extreme climate and weather events on specific populations. Mr. Chavez has worked as a consultant for the World Bank in the Agricultural Risk Management Team for 6 years. In 2015, he won the Lloyd’s Science of Risk Prize in the category of Big Data and Analytics.
