In 2020, the world community will adopt a renewed global agenda for biodiversity loss as a successor to the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. This renewed global agenda will be a stepping-stone towards achieving the CBD 2050 Vision of ‘Living in harmony with nature’ (outlined in decision 10/2). The first outcome document produced by the Consultative Process was discussed during the first meeting and finalised on 17/01/2020. It is a compilation of UN system inputs to the CBD post-2020 global biodiversity framework, and is accessible below.

This page contains two calendars of events relevant to the elaboration and implementation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework and to awareness-raising around it. The first calendar shows events and deadlines for the Consultative Process. The second calendar lists opportunities for technical inputs to the post-2020 global biodiversity framework, or for awareness-raising about the linkages between biodiversity and the main policy sectors. The events in this calendar have been categorised by UN policy sector.
Events can be added to these two calendars by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
These calendars will be regularly updated. All dates take place in 2020. Past events will be removed from the page to keep the calendars streamlined.
